My teaching philosophyMy name is Lenka Jacko and I am a greatly committed teacher of English. I believe that all students have the ability to be successful, even though some need more help with finding the right path. Therefore, I expect excellence from each and every student that steps into my classroom and in return I try to do my best to provide quality teaching through my lessons. I believe that students become more engaged and learn more through active learning with lots of practical examples and games as opposed to passive listening or mere learning by heart from a student book. Thus, I attempt to involve as many "real life activities" in my lessons as much as possible to engage them all in one way or another.
I have been a language teacher for more than 20 years teaching people of all ages; however; I enjoy teaching children and teenagers the most. I currently work in a Prague elementary school where I teach English and German. My pupils are aged 10 - 15. I enjoy involving the kids in international projects as I strongly believe that using the language in real life is the best way to learn a lot. I am open to any new lesson ideas and projects that my pupils and I would enjoy. I try to learn new things all the time and seek for inspiration from my colleagues all around the word. |
